Learn and Master Guitar Best Guitar Course?

August 10th, 2009

Looking for guitar courses online reveals that Learn and Master Guitar is probably the most well known software course available.  It has been the best selling guitar software course for the past few years, and you will see hundreds of positive reviews online.  I was interested in taking up guitar as a hobby so I decided to buy the product and find out if the course could help me become a decent guitar player.  What follows is the rest of my Learn and Master Guitar review.

Learn and Master Guitar is the creation of professional guitarist Steve Krenz.  Steve is a very good guitar teacher and I really enjoyed his pacing and teaching style.  The complete software course contains 20 DVDs, 5 Jam Along CDs, and a huge workbook.  The first thing that you notice when you receive everything, is how professional and well put together the whole package is.  Everything about the course suggests quality.

The lessons do an excellent job of explaining the guitar basics.  In the beginning, you learn proper guitar position, correct finger and fret placement, and special exercises designed to help your hands adjust to playing the guitar.  Over time, you will learn more advanced topics like strumming techniques, advanced chords, reading music and how to play different types of music including R&B, rock and roll, and jazz.  The included Jam Along CDs let you play alongside a real band which is very helpful.  It is a fun method to take what you have learned in the lessons and improve your skills.

Any questions you that you have can be answered over in the online forums.  The community is very active, and you find answers to your questions in no time.  Additionally, Steve Krenz himself is active on the forums and you have a chance to pick the brain of the course creator himself.

Really, the only downside of the Learn and Master Guitar course is the price.  It was definitely the most expensive guitar software I saw on the web.  Still, compared to getting private guitar lessons, the excellent guitar instruction and convenience of a home study course is well worth it.  The program is backed by a 60 day money back guarantee, so you really have no excuse not to try it.  If you want to learn to play guitar like a pro, then I highly recommend you check out Learn and Master Guitar.
